Anaconda’s Lost Creek Raceway vandalized

Early last week, Lost Creek Raceway, located two miles north of Anaconda, was hit by a handful of pukes with nothing better to do than destroy property.

Mommy and daddy didn’t pay enough attention to these perps, so innocent people responsible for running the nonprofit organization each and every year are the ones to pay.

Anywhere from $8,000-$10,000 worth of damage was reported by racetrack officials and volunteers, some $20K less that what would’ve been the case if the computers and timing system wouldn’t have been able to be saved.

Several vehicles had windows and windshields smashed out.

The tower had graffiti spray painted on the walls, some of which contained images the ignorant teens, in my opinion, will never get the chance to see for themselves in person.

Equipment, such as the timing tree and computers used for stockpiling the data were painted and covered with spent fire extinguisher sprays.

Currently, Lost Creek Raceway will give $500 for the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for this senseless destruction.

But honestly, that $500 will gladly be given for an “anonymous” tip that leads to nothing less than a meeting face to face with several individuals who had to see their years of work destroyed in a matter of minutes by a couple of cowards with some time to kill.

To report any suspicious individuals, you can contact the Anaconda-Deer Lodge police department at (406) 563-5241 or me at (406) 563-5283 or (406) 560-4315 or send an e-mail to sports@anacondaleader.com.

Let’s get these individuals before they destroy something you care about.
